Pookie Bear (59470) is the Oregon Humane Society’s Dog of the Week.  She is a beautiful five and half year old German Shepherd who is looking for a Shepherd-experienced person who understands the Shepherd bark and mannerisms. She has previously lived as an “outdoors dog only” and is looking for a home that will let her be indoors and housetrain her. Pookie would much rather be with her family than shut outside. It will take some time for her to adjust to indoor life so her family will need to be patient and gentle with her. Her ideal home will be one where she is the only pet and where she is surrounded by people who will brush, pet her, and stroke her wonderful ears. Pookie will do best with mature children who won’t overwhelm her. She definitely cannot go home with cats or small dogs due to a lack of history and a strong prey drive. She is a loving and affectionate girl who will show you who she is one piece at a time. With time to adjust and lots of love, Pookie Bear will make a wonderful companion. Visiting hours are from 10 am to 7 pm on Sunday-Wednesday; and 10 am to 9 pm on Thursday-Saturday. Adoption hours end thirty minutes prior to closing each day.

The adoption fee includes neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support!  Availability is subject to prior adoption.
